The research on human bhavior and climate change noted here has been carried out by an interdisciplinary group of researchers who first started work on this as part of a Joint NIMBioS-SESYNC Working Group on Human Risk Perception and Climate Change in 2013. Our general objective has been to incorporate models of human behavior with physically-based climate models to analyze the impacts on global temperature trajectories of linking human behavior to climate models. This work led to an overlapping research project focused on human behavior and disease dynamics with an emphasis on interactions with public health policy. The research on disease dynamics is supported by the National Science Foundation through the Mathematical Modeling of Policy Options for Evolving Public Health Challenges Program with award DMS-2436120 to the University of Vermont titled "MPOPHC: Integrating human risk perception and social processes into policy responses in an epidemiological model".
