Extra Mini Examination to be given on November 4 In order to allow class members to enhance their grades on the examination portion of the course grading, we will offer the opportunity to take a mini-exam on Tuesday November 4 at the end of the class period. This exam will cover only the material covered for the first two exams, not any of the material covered since then (on probability applications). The exam will last 1/2 hour, will be approximately 1/2 the length of the previous Exams, and will count 1/2 of those exams in counting this component of your course grade. Thus, if you take the Mini Exam (and this is completely up to the discretion of each student, but if you take it you must turn it in and it will count in your grade), the exam component of your course grade will be out of 250. This is 100 for each of the exams which count (remember the lowest is dropped), plus 50 for the Mini Exam. There will not be any review for the Mini Exam. As a review, be certain you understand the problems on the first two exams.
