MATH 151 - FALL 2007 - ASSIGNMENT #12 - Project #4

Do the Project#3 included on Page 22 of the Supplement. Do this
project independently of any other students, though you may share the
methods with other students. Guidelines for doing this project are:

1. Produce a Matlab .m file to carry out the calculations needed and
include a copy of this .m file as an addenda to your report on this
project. The Matlab Helps in the course supplement on page 24 provides
assistance for this project, and the course web page has many examples of
.m files which you can look at as examples (e.g. lesson5.m and
ranleslie.m).

2. For the project report, include a

Methods section: in which you describe what you have done, including the
calculation of your q value, how you chose the values of F to use, and
describing the .m file you have produced; and a

Results section: in which you answer questions #1, #2 and #3 requested on
for the project as well as include a Table similar to the table on Page
23 of the course supplement; and a

Conclusions section in which you answer question #4 requested for the project
and discuss anything else regarding the results of the project you wish to;
and an

Addendum: which is the printout of the .m file you used and which should include
comment lines to describe each section of the code.

3. For the project report, do not include the full Matlab printouts, but copy
and paste into a wordprocessor any results from Matlab that are necessary to
answer the above questions - note that most of your results will be included
in the table in your results section so you should not need to copy and paste
very many results. We expect that the entire report will be printed, and will
not include any handwritten parts.

Due: Turn in by 5PM Friday October 26 in your TA's mailbox in Ayres Hall.
