Study Skills Suggestions for Math 151 The below list is meant as a set of suggestions to assist you in succeeding in this course. 1. Go to the office hours for your Teaching Assistant and the course instructor at least once during the semester, if for no other reason than to introduce yourself and to fill them in on your background and interests. 2. Ask questions about assignments during the recitation/lab periods, or by email or during office hours, to your TA or the course instructor. Do not be bashful - if you have a question about a topic this generally means other class participants do as well. 3. Review every test, computer project and quiz for grading errors when it is returned and bring up any questions to your TA or the instructor quickly. 4. Turn in your computer projects on time. Be sure to budget sufficient time to do these before the due date - try not to let it go til the last minute. 5. Keep a journal of your activities/lecture notes/projects carried out for the class. Use this to make a "crib sheet" in your own handwriting of key ideas prior to each exam. This should be only 1-2 pages for each portion of the course (e.g. covered by an exam), including the main methods and rules for the exam. Go over this crib sheet before going to sleep the day before an exam and just before the exam.
