Math 405/411 - Homework Assignment #2

Consider a cell population which consists of two cell types each of which 
divide synchronously at the same time. Cell type 1 has a division rate R1 
cells per time period and type 2 has a division rate R2 cells per time period.
Thus each cell type grows geometrically, and independently of the other.
How does the entire population grow, and how does the structure of the 
population (e.g. numbers of the two cell types) change through time?
